CURES Update And FREE Lunch
Thanks for all your hard work with the CURES Act updates. We implemented it a couple weeks before the law went into effect so that we could work out any quirks in the system. Overall, I would say we have about 75% accuracy! Not bad for the first couple weeks and with holidays.
However, it is now officially a law so we have to get that accuracy percentage up!
Currently we are doing daily chart audits and messaging out things that need to be fixed through EHR. Please pay close attention to those messages each shift when you arrive and edit accordingly.
We have decided to offer a REWARD to the shift that has the highest accuracy in charting over the next few weeks 🙂
The week of January 22, the shift that has charted the MOST accurately will get LUNCH of your choosing. Winners will be chosen on Friday January 19th!
The most common error is the narrative not being saved as a document, and then document not being made “Patient Viewable”.
** If you make the NOTE patient viewable, this does not give the patient access. I know that is confusing, it’s an issue within AMD and if it ever becomes an option, you’ll be the first to know!
The law states the record needs to be available “without delay” and its fuzzy what that timeline actually means, so we want to stay above board and have it accessible same day.
Please refer to your instruction sheets, and let Cassie or Julie W know if there is any confusion so we can update as needed.
We’ve got this team!!! 🙂
CAPS Rebranding Update
The building blocks of life are essential for health, growth, and thriving. In the same way, building blocks are essential for businesses and organizations. Over the last 24 years, we have built our brand from the ground up, creating a solid foundation with our dedication to service and our values of Life, Integrity, Love, and Impact. And when your foundation is secure you can build and thrive for generations to come.
With that in mind CAPS has just completed a rebranding project. Our goals in this project were to:
- Leverage the equity of our existing brand.
- Increase trust and credibility.
- Resonate with a wider audience.
- Broadened and modernized our color palette.
- Incorporate the term “medical”.
We will be rebranding as CAPS Pregnancy+ Medical Clinics
Pronounced “CAPS Pregnancy and Medical Clinics”
You can view the new brand (logo, colors, fonts) here.
Over the next few months, you will see the logo, font and colors be implemented into existing pieces and see new designs of some as well.
We are excited about this next phase of CAPS and are looking forward to seeing how God continues to use us as we serve to uphold the value of every human life.
If you have any questions, please contact Alon at alon@capsonline.org or ext. 114.
Cultivate Program Updates
The New Year is a time to reflect on the past year and to look forward to what is to come. In 2023, PCS referred 46 patients to the social worker. Of those 46 referrals, 32 patients (70%) responded to Devon’s text and 26 patients (57%) had a conversation with Devon either in person, by phone or via text.
Our Cultivate program is slowing growing with four participants. Our first Cultivate participant will be graduating soon! She has taken classes on baby care, attachment, co-parenting, financial stability, parenting toddlers, and is finishing the unit on healing past trauma. Her intention is to do one extra unit on healthy relationships. CAPS has been able to bless her not only with diapers and wipes upon completion of each unit, but also a bag of clothes for each clothing size up to 12 months. We also provided a few other items: bottle sterilizer, sippy cups, activity mat, and activity center. Our most recent Cultivate participant completed the pregnancy unit last week and was given 8 long sleeve tops and pants as she did not have any warm clothing that fit her growing body.
We are revising when and how tubbies are offered to patients in 2024. The goal is to create another opportunity to engage our patients who need more support. PCS will call such patients when they are 7 months pregnant to offer a tubby. When the patient picks up the tubby at their local clinic, the patient will complete a brief survey on her readiness to bring a baby home and receive information regarding the support we offer. We are hoping the tubbies will provide another opportunity to check in with the patients who can benefit from more support before the baby is born. PCS and receptionists will be provided with more detailed information soon.
This next year, we are hoping to grow in all aspects of our Social Services! Elizabeth will be teaching the parenting class three times in 2024. We are also looking to expand our PACE services by making appointments available both in person and virtually. You will be hearing patient stories from Elizabeth and Laurie in future monthly updates. Please make a point to read these monthly updates as they are the best way to share what we are doing.
New Patient Marketing Endeavor
For 2024 we are embarking on a new way we will market our services…..a commercial!
This commercial will be shown on streaming channels to women 18-24 in 18 specific zip codes with a household income less than $75,000. We expect to have the commercial shown over 60,000 times per month.
You can view the commercial here.
Please don’t share it people, this is only for CAPS Personnel to view.
Please be praying for this new endeavor that it increases our reach and therefore the number of patients we serve.
We Are Looking For Nurses
We are looking for Nurses and Receptionists and are hoping you may know that person we are waiting to meet.
Here is a flyer if you’d like to share it with friends that you think may be a good fit for CAPS.
